It all started almost by chance, four years ago. Some colleagues told me about padel and, curious as I am, that same evening I began searching online and on social media to learn more about a sport I knew nothing about until then.
Three days later I was on court for my first match. It was love at first sight.
From that moment curiosity turned into passion, and that passion has never stopped growing. I started playing and training several evenings a week, falling for the smallest details of the game and following ever more closely everything that revolves around the world of padel.
Then came the trips to follow tournaments around the world and, above all, the people I met. I have been lucky enough to know extraordinary professional players and many people who live this sport every day. With some of them, relationships were born that went far beyond the court and, over time, became true friendships.
A special thank you goes to David Antolín and Giulio Graziotti, who more than anyone gave me the chance to know this sport from the inside, showing me its many facets, its details and so many aspects that are hard to grasp from the outside. Thanks to them too, I learned to see padel with different eyes, going beyond what simply happens on court.
Along this path Padel Echo came first, a page created almost as a natural consequence of this passion and dedicated mainly to news, results and what was happening in tournaments. It was my first attempt at telling padel and, in time, I realised I wanted to go further.
It is from this evolution that Padel Else was born.
Not just a change of name, but a new and more ambitious project: turning that page into a proper online magazine dedicated to padel at 360 degrees, with a more journalistic approach and the will to tell this world from different perspectives.
An idea that did not take shape on its own. In this passage from Padel Echo to Padel Else I must also thank Alfonso and Giuseppe in particular, with whom I shared thoughts, ideas and many conversations, and who helped shape what today has become the project I had in mind.
So not only results, rankings and tournaments, but people, stories, interviews, curiosities, places, brands, ideas, behind-the-scenes and everything that happens inside and around this sport. Over time I have been lucky enough to get a little closer to this environment, to know the people who are part of it and to see and hear things that often, for those who live padel simply as players or fans, stay behind the scenes.
And this is exactly what I would like to tell and share through Padel Else: looking at padel from a different point of view, trying to go a little beyond what is normally seen.
Because padel, at least for me, has become much more than a game.
